To honor the legacy of Formula 1 legend Ayrton Senna, McLaren has unveiled a striking tribute featuring custom liveries on both a heritage McLaren Senna and the MCL38 Formula 1 cars. Timed with the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix—marking 30 years since Senna’s passing—the tribute centers around the “Senna Sempre” livery, designed by McLaren Special Operations (MSO). This vibrant design, showcased on a pre-production McLaren Senna from the brand’s heritage collection, reflects Senna’s Brazilian roots and dynamic persona. It also pays homage to his remarkable racing career, especially his dominance at Monaco, where he claimed six victories, five with McLaren.

Complementing the heritage car, the MCL38 race cars driven by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri will feature bespoke liveries in the Brazilian flag’s vivid yellow, green, and blue—symbolizing Senna’s relentless drive and enduring influence. McLaren Automotive CEO Michael Leiters emphasized the emotional weight of the tribute, calling it a celebration of Senna’s passion and perfectionism. McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown echoed this, noting Senna’s profound impact on the team and his status as Formula 1’s most revered icon. The tribute car will remain on display throughout the Grand Prix weekend, offering fans a powerful reminder of Senna’s brilliance and spirit.
